Evel Knievel is dead…

Dang….that’s some crazy news.  What’s especially weird about reading about his death is that I just finished an article in Maxim about him. In that interview/story, he was quoted saying, “I’m dying” and “this will probably be my last interview”.  Nuts….I mean, Superman, now Evel Knievel?…who’s next?

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Evel Knievel, the red-white-and-blue-spangled motorcycle daredevil whose jumps over crazy obstacles including Greyhound buses, live sharks and Idaho’s Snake River Canyon made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.

Knievel’s death was confirmed by his granddaughter, Krysten Knievel. He had been in failing health for years, suffering from diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs. (Source: Yahoonews)

Oink update, rant, links, etc…

Well…for all you peeps that have been ‘lost in the cold’ since the closing of Oink, here’s some updates fer ya. First of all, you should read this rant: When Pigs Fly: The Death of Oink, the Birth of Dissent, and a Brief History of Record Industry Suicide. I just got done with it and it’s a must read for pretty much anyone that listens to music, whether for or against peer-to-peer. Yes, it’s a bit long for most of today’s “but I have ADD” generation, but it’s worth the read. If I got through it…you can too.

Next: for those that are in desperate need of finding a new music home: Google’s alternatives to OiNK.

Willybob! …hehehe…funny video…

Man…it’s been a long time since I first saw the clip of Willybob testing this cannon. I did a quick search on YouTube to see if I could find it and post here…but I not only found the original clip (basically the first 23 seconds of this) I found the original 6 minute clip with a bunch of fooz testing this gun. Some of these are pretty damn funny. The clip does kinda get old after about 20 peeps, but well worth a watch….especially if you’ve never seen it.

*the reference to Willybob is because that first dude says something that sounds like it once he gets blasted.
