Planet Terror! Worth the wait…
The other night was Halloween night and, of course, I had to watch a ‘scary’ movie to go along with the spirit of the holiday. Thank God I chose ‘Planet Terror’ to be that movie. Hehehe….shit was definitely a fun watch.
This movie was originally released on the big screens in April 2007 and was shown as a double-feature titled ‘Grindhouse’. The other movie is titled ’Death Proof’….and I am going to view that soon.
For those that don’t know, the whole idea behind the release was to capture the feeling of the 70′s slasher, low-budget features that were shown in small theaters across the country. These exploitation movies and the theaters that showed them became known as ‘grindhouse’.
Anyway, director Robert Rodriguez did a great job capturing the feel of those early movies. The movie has a comedic feel, plenty of over-acting, lots of skin, and more blood than most movies I’ve seen. The gore in this is friggin great.
Definitely recomended.
