Jay-Z Hits Women!!!…

Category: Hip-Hop, Uncategorized

Hehehe…ok…calm down. I just wanted to post about the email that’s been circulating that claims that Jay-z ‘attacks’ a women while in South Africa. Here’s how the email looks:

Jay-Z ‘ s reactions to an unauthorized Photo in South Africa… Last week
jay-z smacks girl
This is appalling. Please send this to everyone you know……he MUST be held accountable for this. Is this the way we want our South African women to be treated??? How would he feel if his mother/sister/or his precious Beyonce were treated in this fashion? A room full of “men” and nobody does anything!? This is surely going to taint his image. They said that he tried to pay the lady off quickly so that it didn’t get out…Guess they were too late…

Supposedly, this clip is footage from an older DVD Roc-A-Fella Backstage (2000).
Jay-Z told the Daily News “We were playing. We were laughing and joking around,” “She’s one of my best friends.”
“I’m a man with a lot of pride,” Jay-Z said. “I would never lie to you.”
Anyway…this rumor was circulating back in 2004 (google) and it’s crazy how these things resurface and recirculate.
I’m not a Jay-z fan, but figured I’d post anywho.

Peace,
~zOnk

I agree it’s old, but you can look at dudes face and see it’s not a joke, even the other cats with him look concerned.

Hehehe…thanks for the articulate comment Mr. June.

  4. Sammy11 June 26th, 2008 1:05 pm

    King,

If you think he is such a “legend”, then you must like shoving women in the face too?? Why don’t you get a life you cock, and stop idolising other cocks!! By the way fucking has got a G on the end, if you’re going to write it so much, spell it properly!

  5. Qskool July 18th, 2008 9:03 am

eeesh…. Take a look at the guy on the right smiling. I don’t think he would react that way if Jay was being abrasive. You will also notice that the video doesn’t contain any footage leading into or after the alleged “incident”. Do you people believe everything you see on the internet? I’m not even a big Jay-Z fan, you just need to think it through…

  6. lucy August 11th, 2008 12:18 am

Jay Z is a spinelss peace of shit. Rappers and all the pathetic and insecure men and women who defend this videos will get theirs. The man is smiling on the right because it boosts his self esteem. I see this plenty of times in the inner city. A man in argument with a woman and hits her and then crowds of men smiling and laughing. It’s a rights of passage for black men. If she was light skin or white it would make headlines on tv and not only be on the internet. but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

  7. McLina February 11th, 2009 12:05 pm

This Motherfucker better not say shit to Chris Brown, cause jay z hasn’t only hit this lady, he’s hit many more.

  8. bitchladyebony February 15th, 2009 8:44 pm

YES! I agree w/ mclina!!! damn motherfucker jay z better not say shit to Chris Brown! mclina RIHGT!

  9. Ayoungsir February 17th, 2009 10:30 am

Ha! That video is hilarious. It looks like Jay hit the camera, and then, yeah, he mushed her – not acceptable at all, but these photographers and papparazzi are retarded, and it’s a shame how far they have to go to get a picture.

At the end of the day, it’s funny how extenuating circumstances blind peoples’ perception on how they would or should react to being accosted, harrassed, or in lue of a heated argument with a partner. Jay is reacting with anger to Chris Brown because it is Rihanna that was hurt – it’s a personal thing, not a ‘Stand up for women’s rights’ thing. Women should also be accountable in domestic situations – they want to be equal in EVERY other way, they should be held equally accountable in doemstic altercations and the facts should be heard before judgement is cast. Nevertheless, we don’t know all the details…….

I am so shocked right now. Jayz is knocking this women in her head and cussing at her. The sad thing all the men is doing nothing to help her disgusting. How can Jayz put out threats on Chris Browns life and heres proof that he has done the same. See I guess he thought this video would not reservice. What goes around comes around and these celebrities should watch how they treat people. This video needs to be sent to Oprah. Jayz should be ashamed coming at chris brown on his assault on rihanna. I am beginning to believe maybe there is more to this chris brown & rihanna domestic violence situation and it has a lot do with JAYZ(Pimpin Rihanna for Money she is his property right)who knows God knows. I am shocked. He mentioned that the woman was a friend read his lips jayz was serious. What did this woman did to deserve to get hit in the head like this from jayz? Jayz is really a sick person. The truth shall set you free.

  11. A true fan of jayz June 22nd, 2009 6:27 pm

this is old and everyone make mistakes only God can judge him
this happened in 2000 come on now plz stay focusd on whats really going on here there just trying to stop
the king of NYC from doing great things for the world not just this country plz get a life jayz for President.
ps plz hova give chris brown a nother chance we all make them mastakes for ur biggest fan big fu C.I. finnest brooklyn all day !

  12. zOnk.oNe June 23rd, 2009 8:54 am

^^Hahaha….this dude said “give Chris Brown a nother chance we all make them mastakes”.
No dude. We don’t. For any decent, self-respecting males, a ‘mistake’ does not consist of hitting a chick (several times…on more than one occasion). That’s ridiculous.

  13. jaybee June 29th, 2009 3:00 pm

Jay-Z bitch slapped a woman in SOuth Afirca some years ago, so him acting like he never put his hands on a woman is rediculous. I guess we should forget that he use to slang crack in the hood and casued mothers to ignore their children and be dopefiends. Cleary he was being positive and productive in those days…Negro please, if you can reform from being dopeman, then let Chris get himself together and becoe a better man. I would ask Jay-Z to show him how, but appearently, he’s a too much of a bitch to show a boy how to be a man.

  14. kim June 30th, 2009 4:31 pm

someone please send this to oprah and trya

  15. hey crazies July 2nd, 2009 6:50 am

You people are nuts! This is no were close to what Chris did to Rihanna. All you crazies out there who think that what Chris did is justified because other famous people have histories are out of your damn minds. YOU MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS, NOT JUSTIFY THEM BY OTHERS. Even though what Jay Z was clearly wrong, pushing someones face is MUCH MUCH different then beating someones face. Chris Brown lost all of his self-control that night, and before he coms back into the limelight, he needs to do some repenting.

  16. OMG....... July 16th, 2009 6:22 pm

I totally disagree…….once an abuser always an abuser. I was in a relationship like this. I was smart enough to get out though. Women need to be careful of those men that’s constantly saying, “I don’t hit women”. They’re saying it to make themselves believe it. Better yet, so you’ll believe it.
If a man will mush a woman in the face — he’ll hit her too.
Now, with Chris Brown! Regardless, to whether Rhiana hit him or not. He did not have to beat her down the way he did. Then, arise without a scratch. Once, he restrained her he could have walked/run away from her grasps. But he beat her like she was a man. And you can be sure that he will do it again. It just may not be reported.
Same with Jay-Z! HE COULD BE BEATING HIS PRECIOUS BEYONCE RIGHT NOW, but we will never know.
So, that goes to show the shoulda-coulda-woulda, did-didn’t and won’ts of the world.

  17. OMG....... July 16th, 2009 6:30 pm

And no she wasn’t his friend and they were not playing. Even the guy behind him came in a rush with a concerned look on his face. But the idiot to the right. He probably beat woman too and is very much amused when watching other men do it. But the real shame is the spineless group of mindless snakes that didn’t do/say anything to stop it. To hell with the KING of NYC…..what the hell ever. KING of NYC—-Ha! lmfao

  18. Wayward July 17th, 2009 6:36 am

This is crazy……….. I say hit me once , shame on you, hit me twice bring a coroner! If a man has to put his hands on you, he is not a man. However, Chris B is young,so is Rhirana just as their behavior is learned, it can be unlearned, by exploring why they feels the need to stike out in this abusive manner. No matter who hit whom first.a beat down is a beat down. As for Jay-Z even though this clip is said to be old(2000), it does not excuse the self proclaimed KING. NO Joke, own what you do, be accountable for your actions. No man who puts his hands and a smaller individual is a man in my book, that being said, I wish a MF would put his hands on me………..Biggie said is best…..its gonna be some slow singing, flowers bringing!

  19. L LARK July 17th, 2009 9:52 am

If that’s an authorized picture what is the video we’re watching. The person shooting the video wasn’t attacked? What’s that all about?

  20. u.r.e.d.know July 20th, 2009 12:38 pm

  21. Jay'sYourDaddy July 21st, 2009 11:03 am

Wow. She bobbed when she should have weaved.

I admit, that looked bad but at least he didn’t give her a black eye and a disfigured face. Chris Brown did a makeover of that’s girl face. I’ve never hit a woman, but some women need to acknowledge the strength difference and not put themselves in harms way. A few months back, me and my homies got into it a night club with about 8 other guys. It was about 7 of us. They jumped a buddy of ours and we all started fighting. Some of the guys on the other side got knocked out which worked in our favor. All the sudden, like 5 girls that were with the guys started jumping in to help their weaker male counterparts. I mean they were throwing punches toe to toe and two of my homies had to sock a couple of them before they backed off, but yeah. The two girls walked away with busted lips and I felt kind of bad but I was like why on earth would they put themselves in jeopardy like that. You got 7 big guys here, pissed off and in the heat of battle. It made no sense to me. After thinking about it, I can’t feel too bad for them because they really stepped out of line and put themselves in the situation. If ladies want to be treated like ladies, stay in a ladies place. This is 2009, we’re equal in every aspect so don’t think that you can hit a man and expect not to be hit back. Word to the unwise. I know this is definitely not what happened above, but it is a good example of how some women try and use their gender as a force field. If your going to throw punches with a man, just be ready to deal with the painful consequences unless your layla ali or ann wolfe. Than maybe you’ll have a chance.

  22. Olutunu July 22nd, 2009 9:33 am

Jay’sYourDaddy, I couldn’t agree with you more. No self respecting guy would want to hit anybody regardless of gender. But we need to know what went down before and after the clip. I’m sorry, I just can’t agree with soundless 3 second clip. Yes it does look malicious but I need more info……

  23. Deeply disappointed woman July 23rd, 2009 10:14 pm

‘m not a big rap/hiphop fan but I definitely can appreciate the lyrical/poetic/musical talent of artists like Jay-z and others. And it’s no wonder why people hold them in such high esteem. That however is no excuse for jay-z’s actions. I tried to do as much research into when this was shot and the circumstances in which it was shot. And no matter how long ago or the circumstances, there’s no excuse good enough. No matter how much money he makes or how much influence he has, he isn’t invincible neither above the law or ethical or moral standards. His actions whether acting or real lends credence to the word ‘ghetto’ or ‘ignorant’. And if this is how he treats his ‘best friends’ he’s a sick puppy ( he certainly isn’t a real man). There’s no excuse for violence. That’s a woman firstly, and someone who is smaller than him and less likely to defend herself against him. Pathetic.

  24. kayla July 24th, 2009 9:30 am

I CAN’T BELIVE HE DID THIS Y WOULD HE HURT A YOUNG LADY JUST FOR NOTHING NOW I SEE WHY PPL DONT LIKE HIM ANY MORE.

  25. WALTLOVE-1 July 27th, 2009 12:48 pm

NUMBER ONE , THIS CLIP IS ABOUT JAY-Z , AND NOT CHRIS BROWN .
IT MAKES LITTLE OR NO DIFFERENCE WHEN IT HAPPENED , JAY-Z HAD NO BUSINESS PUTTING HIS HANDS ON THE WOMAN , ONE WAY OR THE OTHER ! REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES ! ! !

  26. Lb1440 July 27th, 2009 11:47 pm

The bottom line is: He put his hands on a woman, period!
The look on his is face is not one of someone who is playing, he shoved her hard, and the wimps around him have no backbone or balls to stand up to him most likely because they are on his payroll. Anyone who condones this is spineless! He would not want someone “Playing” with Beyonce in this fashion!

  27. Sheryl Aldie July 28th, 2009 7:20 am

Africa is our Motherland!!!!!! How dare him go over there and disrepect the young lady like that after all that we’re going thru there!!!! He should have been happy to have someone try to take a picture of his ugly ass!!!

  28. G. V. Myles July 28th, 2009 9:48 am

Whether this was in Africa or in New York at the park, whether or not it is his best friend or his worst enemy, whether it is 2004, 2007, 2009 or 2030, JayZ, nor any man alive, should treat a woman in that manner. If one of B’s male friends pushed her in that manner, he would be livid and it would be news across the globe. I realize that people have a way of reposting old shit, but no matter how you look at it, that was a punk ass move and he should or should have been held accountable.

  29. Tesh July 28th, 2009 9:56 am

The chick had no business taking snapshots of Jay Z. She got what she deserved! Give the man his privacy dumb ass.

  30. Sqoozie July 28th, 2009 6:20 pm

There was nothing ‘joking around’ about that. But would be useful to see the full footage.

There is a reason why Jay Z is the top of his game and it isn’t talent alone. This is also the reason why his little underlings of the music world are creating controversies too.

  31. Lynda Jones-Owings July 30th, 2009 11:54 am

He is kicking Beyounce in her ass; as well and it will come to pass. Believe me we will hear about it. I can’t believe how he talked bad about 19 year old boy (Chris Brown) and his girl (Briana)having a squibble. He’s beating up on women that he does not know. His ass would have been calling his boyz to help him after I got a hold of his uggggggly ass.

  32. missti August 4th, 2009 6:18 am

Apparently there are men and women out there who don’t know what violence against women is and are operating under the notion that violence against women is ok. Yes, Chris Brown did mess Rhianna up but what Jay-Z did is still violence against women. Violence against women is an age old problem and it’s disgusting to see individuals like Brown and Jay-Z behave like neanderthals as if hitting a woman in anger is ok! It especially disturbs me as a black woman. Don’t we have enough to deal with in this society? Do we have to fight our men too? The Jay-Z’s and the Chris Brown’s of the world need to grow up and respect the mother’s of the world! I wonder how Jay-Z and Brown would feel if their mother or their sister or better yet, their daughter’s were being treated in such a manner. Again, grow up Jay-Z! You’re a hypocrite and a loser and I am so relieved my daughters dislike your music.

  33. Reesa Cup August 12th, 2009 1:04 am

Great cover up. The guy behinds you dont thinks its a joke between two best friends!!! ANd you dont like Chris Brown… hey yall have alot in common to talk about… POOR Beyonce!!!

Hell if you can get over than do it but you will get caught by one of those woman brothers knuckles SMILE

  34. Reesa Cup August 12th, 2009 1:07 am

Come hit me or play like you wanna hit me .. I mad at men now anyways…

  35. Me August 17th, 2009 2:24 pm

Okay, he needs to let this chic step forward and vouch for his story, then I will be satisfied. All that carrying on about Rhianna, Imma need JayZ to be reprimanded about this! and I am a die hard Jay Z fan!

  36. Honestly August 22nd, 2009 12:38 pm

I dont care is the video is 5 seconds, 5 days, or 5 years old the action inappropriate, it doesn’t matter who the person is or what context it was meant in. Jerks that are in the presence of another jerk when he is abusing a woman and not doing anything about it is just as bad as the abuser. Women need to stop taking that crap and defend themselves, to hell with all the neck rolling and finger popping, if you will fight another women, learn how to defend yourself against a weak a jerk who thinks he is a man putting his hands on you. Everyone has a way to be broken down.

  37. Shandelle (a.k.a. The SST) August 25th, 2009 1:23 pm

The ‘alleged’ smile that is on the brother’s face to the right appears to say C’mon,Z, man…whatchu doin’?”. And the brothers look like they’re steppin’ up in case the legendary Mr. Z decides to really get ‘playful’. And you’re right about the internet; who should we believe? Jay-Z, or our lying eyes?

P.S. (Notice the punctuation behing words ending in ‘ing’ when you’re writing in slang.)

Of course, I’d like to think that the grammatical errors found among all the blogging are due to our passion to either come to Jay-Z’s defense or throw him to the wolves, or that we’re in such a hurry to express ourselves that we don’t have time to spell words correctly, let alone place a period, comma, or capital letter at the beginning of sentences.

What I would not like to think is that there are far too many of us who have preferred the music industry, or anything or anybody else over education.

Unfortunately, I believe the latter to be true.
    Peace and love,

  38. Acappella August 31st, 2009 4:21 pm

Well he can say whatever he wants and DO WUTEVER HE WANTS IF PEOPLE LET HIM. lolz.

This is old and I only just saw this today but.. Im neither shocked NOR surprised.

I know people who have met him and even a couple who know him. One thing is common, they all say he’s an asshole. lolz. But who knows. I personally am not surprised though.

  39. Acappella August 31st, 2009 4:24 pm

Oh an my legends are: Christ, Martin, Malcolm, and maybe Tupac as far as rap goes.

Sorry, but Jay doesn’t make that cut for me.

  40. watever August 31st, 2009 11:22 pm

Jayz is a piece of shit for that. He treats beyonce like shit as well. stupid girl she can do better

  41. Missy Poo September 4th, 2009 9:53 am

I finf it odd how you ppl can bring one situatuation into another! We all know that CB was wrong but this video is of Jay and no one else! You can tell that this clip is real Because you can tell how the security guard is approching from behind. The laughter from the sidelines just shows the ignorance and immaturity of the company Jay Z chose to keep back then1 But all in all that was almost 10 years ago…..10 YEARS! people can do a lot of growing up in 10 Years!

  42. qutin September 11th, 2009 12:08 pm

Well Im not saying that Jay was right for doing what he did. It was wrong, but that really wasnt that bad. Im sure he did not do that for absolutely no reason. Im sure that woman probably done something to lead up to that. It takes a lot of anger build up for a man of his intelligence, and success to do something like that and risk everything. Ive had girlfriends in the past that were violent towards me over stupid shit. I was able to control most of my anger but sometimes she would take it too far and then I would completely beat the shit out of her as if she was a man. And at that time, I didnt give a fuck about what I was doing I was so mad. It took alot to get me to that point. Its absolutely wrong to hit a woman. But if she hits me, she gets fucked up man style. I just dont give a fuck. But that did not do anything good for JAY Z. Im sure she prolly done somethin but Not a smart move by Jay. And just for thatm, Jays a fucking idiot.

  43. Neese September 17th, 2009 8:26 pm

Qutin..how can u say u beat the shit out of women? That’s disgusting and u really don’t deserve to comment..so please shut up! As for the video, it’s hard to believe the guy that said he was there and explained what happens. Besides it’s a different story than what Jay said. He’s a liar and a loser like most of these celebs out here. No morals, no values, no self control or respect for others..hell not even themselves. Oh well.

  44. siren1212 September 26th, 2009 8:37 pm

Everyone try to get this video to Oprah!!! hopefully she’ll apologize about calling this kid an icon. The real ICON here is Michael Jackson RIP!!!

  45. Neese September 27th, 2009 7:01 am

Sorry your right Qutin I like rape and being beaten by my man when I attempt to dicipline his ass!

  46. sexyladie329 September 27th, 2009 8:51 pm

WOW!!! I KNOW IM LATE BUT DAMN JAY-Z!! YOU CAN’T SAY SHIT ABOUT CHRIS BROWN!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!

  47. ButteryAssMondays October 14th, 2009 12:26 pm

idk i think this is being blown out of the water specialy since it happened awhile ago. i think if shit was serious and it went down like that it would have been a bigger deal but nothin was really done about it. and cut it with the whole hypocrite shit. every human on the face of the earth is a hypocrite at some point in their lives. except monks maybe lol

P.S. i dont give a fuck about proper spelling this aint SKOOL.

  48. milleniumbeauty November 8th, 2009 8:24 am

This is insane. No man should ever put his hand on a female and you with that wack ass story about its like beefing with your sister so i guess u beat on your sister or your mother for that matter. You ought to be a shamed So all u people that dont agree with me i guess u would smack ur mother or sister if they caught chlamydia from someone u know. KILL YOURSELF JAYZ!

  49. rasta man November 9th, 2009 7:37 am

jay z is a bitch,a pagan, babylon,a antichrist,a lodge member.,a master mason and a dick i am not surprise to see this video the one thing i hate is that he is bringing kanye in his world. cocksucker

  50. jazzyme November 10th, 2009 7:00 am

it’s really interesting how people think…there’s never a good reason to hit a woman…how hard or how many times you hit her is not even relevent’…it’s takes a real man to walk away…the problem with our society today is that money and fame rules the world and those with it use it to take responsibility for their action…and that’s the real crime…at the end of the day a bad act still equals a bad act and if you do something wrong you should be held accountable no matter who you are’

  51. dumfounded November 10th, 2009 4:39 pm

WTF???…..This happened when….2004?…Around that time up until 2006 i watched tv religously…how come i never saw this in the news….i`ve never even heard talk about it…Today is the first time i saw this image. This is totally unacceptable. “ To those who say don`t judge and, everyone makes mistakes” must be abusers of women themselves.
And then we Black women wonder why we are the least respected females on the planet…well…there is our answer right there. It`s our men who give us that that status.
I was never a Jay Z fan but, i have friends who are but, who will no longer be after i show them this, because i know they will be just as shocked and disgusted as i am …maybe even more.

  52. freddie c. November 12th, 2009 11:09 pm

Everyone is quit judge some one to make them feel like they are important. No one has the right to judge anybody. There are bigger things in this worelsd to worry about. And for everyone on here saying this is unacceptable there some things in your life that you have done that is unacceptable but because you ain’t nuthing no one is focused on it. This is the reason the world is so messed up today because everyone is worried about everyone else other then they self. Pay a little more attention to what you doing and don’t worry about what’s not yours or something that don’t involve you. God bless. And thanks for reading.

  53. april November 12th, 2009 11:30 pm

I believe that some of the people on here is telling the truth and people need to with it is not that they is judge them but they is judge there action. Because how I feel is how you go judge the next men about their action and you is doing the same. I do not care wrong is wrong because how I feel is god did not put women in this world to be hit clap on and be abuse by a men. Jay z can’t jude chris brown at all because he did the same thing and least chris brown did not try to pay off rhianna because jay z know what he did and he talk about chris brown like he was nothing. What I feel if any have a problem with a women or men and ther no working out and you feel that person drive you to that then you need to leave that person it also go for a men that in a abuse relationship to. The world is mess up in so many way it a damn shame what what if god walk on this planet today what would you all do and is this what martine luther king jr. Faught for I feel I black people was more together when we was slayer because we protect each other and we did not hit our women at all so whose ever believe that it cool they need a reality check. But I have a lot to say but I am going to keep it short one luv tweetybird. Ps pick up a bible.

  54. Amkwan December 3rd, 2009 3:20 pm

He’s probably not as perfect as my other rap heroes.

I hear LL Cool J puts down jackets so women can walk over puddles.

It’s only cool if guns are involved.

You mean kids from Brooklyn can’t push people in their way?

    Hi guys

this is not Jay Z hitting a woman, it was part of the Hard Knock Life DVD which got edited out because of the reaction people were giving it back then, this was 1999 and the DVD did come out, if you look for Roca ruw cuts you will get the DVD there. they explain that it was acting and there is more clipse after that shows him and the lady having lucnh, she was Def Jam exec and i cant explain it thourough u would have to watch it, at first i was disgusted as well but after seeing the whole dvd then i understood.

he respects women, the story would have been a media frenzy but cos it was acting it didnt make it to that level. was it a whiteman u all would understand. look at how he treats every woman, he is one of the few rappers who show respect for women and whose goal is to upgrade others with knowledge…HOV, the greatest rapper alive

  57. Jay z's Lawyer January 2nd, 2010 6:56 pm

He was obviously playing ladies and gentleman, the only person who took this serious was the body guard backstage (ball head & black shirt) it was indeed Jay z’s niece not African, she wasn’t taking a picture of him or anything like that, their just rumors, being successful, rich, talented & and a fun person like Jay is a easy target for any hater. So please, guys just be mature about this and don’t judge this 5 sec video.. personally to me and Jay it’s almost useless.

    Thank you for time :-D

  58. Bitch Please January 4th, 2010 8:55 pm

^^^^Ay you….STFU…..justify the shit by posting 5-10 minutes before and after this clip…ok then we can discuss.

  59. Charlea January 12th, 2010 9:00 pm

If he tries this in Nigeria, i will have beaaten. He is an Idiot. What dity legend? Who told you he is a legend? You have to stop idolizing irresponsible people like this. He is an animal. I wish I never played his empty songs.

Those of you defending Jay-z, must be drinkin’ Clorox and snortin’ Tide. Clearly, this piece of dirt is upset. Read his lips:’Bitch, fuck you’. The question is, why do you defend this (I’m all that and I have money, you don’t)dude? You idolize a man-child who in the 2010 refers to people in his rap music as ‘niggas’?
What the hell is wrong with you. You think it’s cool to be referred to as niggas? Well dig buster, it never really was, I’d refer to them as just friends or associates. And Obama and Bill if you call this piece of dirt friend. Then there something with you too. (But after all, you are politicians (’nuff said’)

  61. The Kind February 1st, 2010 7:57 pm

And another thing. If Jay-z is so smart and this is just a clip from a’hard knocks’video , then Jay-z isn’t as smart after all. What intelligient celebrity would place his/her character in such damning/damaging jhepardy? Huh??? pilgrim.

  62. Clarity February 1st, 2010 9:39 pm

    Clarity,
Thank you for your concern, it’s so comforting and gratifying to know that there’s at least one cosmopolitan, benevolent, altruistic benefactor, such as yourself. Say didn’t I know you in kindergarten? Well, all the best tete’ de merde.

  64. The Kind February 2nd, 2010 6:08 pm

Okay, I just read the Oprah Winfrey interview with Jay-z (09/2009). I’ll be the first to admit that I may have made an error in my impression of this man. After reading the interview, there’s a lot about his character, and integrity that are admirable, and should be emulated more in our black community. He and I are analogous in one respect, and that’s honesty. (However, I do question his the veracity of his explanation, of what transpired in this woman assault epidose). In reading the Oprah interview, you come to and/or already realize how imperative it is to have a father in your life. Jay-z was quite emphatic in expressing that void in his childhood. So, I stand corrected about his character, but I disagee with him on referring to his friends, and associates as niggas. It is a ‘generational’ thing, my generation, past generations and your generation. I wish him continued success, but remember, children are quite impressional, and they’re listening.

It’s just a little skeptical how this clip is only of him hitting her. We don’t know them, their relationship, what happened before or immediately after. There isn’t even any audio! It really could have been a joke. Is it not a little suspect that the clip is just repeating his actions and NONE of the aftermath. Come on… Nobody around him looked even remotely concerned except the man behind him who slowed up when he realized what was going on- WHICH NONE OF US WERE THERE TO ACTUALLY KNOW. I DO NOT condone physical abuse of any kind but people really need to stop the speculation. People are so quick to pull someone’s name through the mud…

  69. Lin February 9th, 2010 3:45 pm

I think even though the footage of Jayz hitting the woman is old the only reason it was posted was because of the threats made to Chris Brown. Chris Brown have apologized on several occasions to Rihanna and her family for the pain he have caused. You know as black people we do not know how to let things go we hold on to the past and this is why we make it so hard for us to move on with present. Why are we so concern with other people situations and issues instead of our own?

  70. Animalistic Black Men February 25th, 2010 9:35 pm

“You know as black people we do not know how to let things go we hold on to the past and this is why we make it so hard for us to move on with present. Why are we so concern with other people situations and issues instead of our own?”

Have you any idea how ignorant you sound? Stop bringing race into it. He is a MAN, pushing a WOMAN in the face. I don’t care if he is pink with purple polka dots, his behavior is WRONG. Why not substitute your MOTHER or DAUGHTER in this situation? If you STILL want to make excuses for his behavior (if it were a woman in YOUR life), then you are seriously deranged and pathetic. Learn to act like a MAN and stop using race as an excuse for animalistic behavior.
