Howdy…here’s another one of my digital creations. I’ve really been feeling the reggae themed vibe lately so obviously, this one’s heavy on that flavor. So far, I think this is my personal favorite out of my wallpapers.

I decided to make another wallpaper with a reggae/rasta theme. This is what came out. This one is 1920×1200, which should look nice on those flat screen monitors all ya’ll be ownin nowadays..hehehe.

I was cruising Nasa.gov and saw some dope images. Here’s one I really liked and the write up:
Previously unseen details of a mysterious, complex structure within the Carina Nebula (NGC 3372) are revealed by this image obtained by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope. The picture is a montage assembled from four different April 1999 telescope pointings with Hubble’s Wide Field Planetary Camera 2, which used six different color filters.
This region, about 8,000 light-years from Earth, is located adjacent to the famous explosive variable star Eta Carinae, which lies just outside the field of view toward the upper right. The high resolution of the Hubble images reveals the relative three- dimensional locations of many of these features, as well as showing numerous small dark globules that may be in the process of collapsing to form new stars. Two striking large, sharp-edged dust clouds are located near the bottom center and upper left edges of the image. The former is immersed within the ring and the latter is just outside the ring. The pronounced pillars and knobs of the upper left cloud appear to point toward a luminous, massive star located just outside the field further toward the upper left, which may be responsible for illuminating and sculpting them by means of its high-energy radiation and stellar wind of high-velocity ejected material.
These large dark clouds may eventually evaporate, or if there are sufficiently dense condensations within them, give birth to small star clusters. The Carina Nebula, with an overall diameter of more than 200 light- years, is one of the outstanding features of the Southern Hemisphere portion of the Milky Way. The diameter of the Keyhole ring structure shown here is about 7 light-years.

One of my favorite pages in Playboy is the “Raw Data” page. This is the page that gives a bunch of random facts on all sorts of different things. Some of them interesting, some irritating, and others weird and troubling. Here’s some of the stuff from the current June 2008 issue:

-There are currently 2,387 juveniles in the U.S. serving life sentences with no parole. In Israel, the only other country that sentences juveniles to life terms, there are 7. (that’s nuts)

-Wile only 8% of American women have an hourglass figure-wherein the waist measures at least 9 inches less than the bust-most new clothes are designed to fit that shape.

-The rank of the United States among the leading 19 industrialized nations in preventing deaths with timely access to professional health care: 19th. (so why do I keep hearing peeps saying, “Oh, ‘they’ have universal health care, but ‘they’ can’t get an appointment for anything serious” and a bunch of other lame anti-universal health arguments?)

-A Big Mac, fries, and a coffee contain a total of about 20 different species of plant life. (sounds healthy to me…hehehe)

-The rate of twins in all births has risen 70% since 1980, due to the success of multiple in vitro fertilized eggs. (scary?)

-On November 29, 2007 the number of cell phone accounts worldwide reached 3.3 billion, or 1 for every 2 people alive. (sounds like providers are makin plenty of dough. How bout giving some back?)

For those that still don’t know, Playboy is a great source for good articles and information. Yes, the pictures of super-hot girlies don’t hurt, but seriously, if it wasn’t for the great articles and info, I doubt that it would have lasted this long. And ‘no’….I don’t work for Playboy…heheheh.

Let’s hope that politics can start to change for the better soon. Hopefully Obama will be able to enact some of those positive changes he’s talked about.

While doing an image search, looking for “Rasta Wallpaper”, I found this image….hehehehe. This is a crazy-ass album cover. Nice band name too (Cattle Decapitation).  Way to go Google image search!
