Dennis Brown – It’s Magic (Is That a Fart Sample?)…
Hehehe…I was listenin to music on random last night and this track by Dennis Brown called ‘It’s Magic’ came on. I was trippin on how funny one of the noises in this track is. It really gets lively at about 20 seconds in…Check it out:
That’s some ballsy production. Knowing you’ve got a blatant fart sound in your track and goin ahead with it anyway…
*Update: Imeem (who used to host music) is dead, so here’s the YouTube version. Problem is, it’s not the same production, so no ‘fart sound’.

Yeah And So What?
Yeah so my girl friend made me a Ferrari for my birthday. What did you get?
That’s exactly what I thought, better than you are.

Beer: Lee Scratch Perry’s Guinness Ad…
For those that don’t know the name Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, he’s an out-of-this-world, off-his-rocker, crazy reggae producer/entertainer from the good old days in Jamaica. He’s worked with every big name from back in the day and has put out more albums than I care to collect. He’s known for being just plain weird…and so the good people at Guinness decided to capitalize on that and make some commercials around it.

Some Dope Joints From Jah Terms: Part 1 (Graffiti)…
I’m sure many of you have seen images from this dude floating around the net. One of them has been used (without permission) by tons of people everywhere from Myspace to Twitter. The image is of a Rasta Lion DJ with turntables that look like they’re made out of a tree that’s rooted in the ground. Dope shit…if you’ve seen it, you’ll know what I’m talkin about right away. Well, I spoke with Jah Terms about posting his works on the site, and got the OK. I’ve broke the artwork into three sections (graffiti, paintings, and other) and will showcase each one in a separate post. Since I’m a graffiti head…let’s start with the obvious…the spray can art:

The Official Insecticide Of TrendyInk…

I stumbled upon this today and felt obligated to share it. I didn’t know it, but it turns out that my graffiti roots went so far as to inspire a line of insecticides. How many artists out there can say that? Not many…Plus, this shit is 5 times stronger, NOT 5 times price.
Dope.

A Nice Line Up.
I always enjoy hearing Gift Of Gab destroy a track. I was fortunate enough to work with Gift Of Gab for about 3 years. I got to really learn about him and how he approaches “guest appearance” tracks. He really has a straight forward methodology that seems to not be that of radio play these days. He told me that when someone comes to him to do a track he knows that he has to write the best raps he has ever written. He wants to have the best verse ALWAYS. Which if your anything like “LIL WAYNE” you don’t have time to write raps. You don’t have time to think of anything. You just show up, freestyle incoherent noises through a vocoder, and get paid. So my question to the world is who should be getting paid?
