Hip-Hop: Grimace Love ‘Perception’ Album Out Now…

Category: Hip-Hop

Grimace Love - Perception - Cover
For those of you that have been checkin the site since way back, you’ll remember a post I did about this cat, Grimace Love, way back when. I’ve been waiting to hear this full length ever since. I just got an email from Whole Wheat Brothers Music with some promo stuff to forward on to all ya’ll. Since everyone loves ‘free’ shizzle, I’ll get to that first. Here’s some download links to a couple of tracks: ‘Pimpin The Rhythm’ and ‘Really Real’. How’s that for service?
Also, the track that I posted about called ‘Zig Zag Man’ has a video now. Check it out:

I suggest you guys check out those links, peep that video, click the ‘read more’ link below, and then go get yourself a copy. Show some love to the underground aka real hip-hop scene. Grimace Love’s Perception is available now on iTunes and will hit the shelves soon.

‘Perception’ is the first solo album from the Toronto rap veteran and lyrically conscious, humble rising star Grimace Love.

“Grimace Love” you say… Where do I know that name from? If you’re familiar with the Canadian indie hip hop scene then you know the name Grimace Love from super crew ‘Monolith’ out of Scarborough, (whom were compared to Wu Tang Clan in the late 90’s). If that doesn’t ring a bell then maybe you caught Grimace’s debut solo single/video ‘At First Sight’ on Much Music and radio all across Canada in 2002. Or you may have heard one of his many singles since then on local commercial and/or community radio stations.

Perception is a strong 17-track collection of powerful thought provoking lyrics, smooth instrumentals and that distinct Canadian sound that so many of us long for these days. Released on a new indie label; Whole Wheat Brothers Music. On this album Grimace Love keeps you wanting more with addictive melodies and passionate execution on tracks like It’s All Over, Take A Break and Really Real. But if you’re in the mood for some rugged hip hop beats then get your fix from songs like Pimp’n The Riddim, Skip the needle or Raw Beats.

To sum it all up Perception is a Canadian hip hop classic, that should be placed on the same playing field as Maestro’s ‘Symphony in Effect’, Kardinal’s ‘FireStarter Vol 1’, K-OS’ Joyful Rebellion or any other solid album from the North for that matter.

On Perception Grimace Love proves that his music can stand alone amongst cream of the music industry’s crop, yet he is still able to create that vintage Canadian sound we loved, but miss so dearly…. Well that’s my opinion at least. You be the judge.
