Joe Rogan – The Real Reason Pot Is Illegal…

Category: Funny/Etc.

All of us rational people out there already know a lot of these reasons…but trust me, you want to listen to this. Joe Rogan breaks it down real simple like for the slow folks that still haven’t got it.

I can’t believe that non-violent criminals still clog our prison/court systems and receive longer sentences than many violent criminals. I realize that drugs being illegal is about ‘big business’ but it’s still pretty mind-boggling that the failed ‘drug war’ continues. People have been doing drugs since long before any laws were enacted or the bible was written. Every culture on the planet has used mind altering substances of some sort. It wasn’t until very very recently (as far as mankind’s existence) that certain substances were deemed ‘illegal’ and others not. Crazy…

Just surfing through and I felt compelled to share with you the REAL reason pot has not been decriminalized.

First thing you need understand is a little bit of history. When the US Attorney and FBI were trying to bring down the Mafia, they repeatedly met with failure. The Government knew they were murdering thugs but could rarely find credible evidence or even credible witnesses. Then some unknown US Attorney (many believe Juliani did it) realized that if they stopped pursuing the Mafia in regards to murder and extortion and looked at the books, they could put the Capones and other Mobsters behind bars for tax evasion. Google it! Al Capone (and many other members of the mafia) were never caught for murder, but for not paying taxes!

So too, like they put murderers away for taxes, they put dangerous Gang-bangers and Leaders away for simple drug possession offenses. As we all know, the majority of people behind bars are there for simple drug use. Now, if the Government decriminalizes marijuana, they will have to pardon and release those people in prison. Why we all want to see the common man who has never done anything really wrong go free, the Government is scared to death about releasing into the public THOUSANDS of violent people.

This whole mess really is a testament to the cliche: Do it right the first time! Had murdering gang-bangers been convicted of murder, we probably would have already seen marijuana completely legal at the State level.

I guess that means the Feds are damned if they do and damned if they don’t!. Lucky us huh?!

I’d have to say it’s definitely all about money. Drugs being illegal fills a lot of people’s pockets right now. Those are the people that are scared to have drugs legalized. The war on drugs is a war on people. People of every continent have used mind altering substances (drugs) since the dawn of time. You can’t remove something from society that has been part of humanity since its’ inception. Whether or not you like drugs, they should be legalized. They are our bodies and minds and we should have the freedom to choose what we ingest as well as how we’d like to experience life.
Spend my tax money on ridding society of people that do harm to others. Rapists, murderers, corrupt corporate CEO’s…those are the folks that need to be put in jail. Not harmless drug users.
