Paintball To The Dome…

Check out this kid get tagged in the face with a paintball. Added bonus: slow motion replay…

What’s funny is how homeboy just crumbles from the shot. I know paintball guns are no joke and I’ve actually been shot in the head before with one. I was probably about 13 years old and had just broke my skateboard ollie’ing a trashcan at my local park (not skatepark…they didn’t exist). Anyway…I was bummin, walkin my skate home in two pieces when I heard some booming bass come rolling around the corner behind be. The car had dark tinted windows and was bumpin up the block rollin all slow, Boyz In The Hood style (to give you some reference, I grew up in Santa Ana during the 90′s. Drive by shootings were on the news nightly). As they came closer, and I turned to look, the rear window started to roll down…then out from the window popped the barrel of, what looked like, a shotgun. Before I could react, POP! POP! POP! …I was hit and the car peeled out and took off down the street. The most eff’d up part of it was when I reached up to feel my head where I was hit (top side of my forehead…just into the hairline) I felt what I thought was my skull cracked open and looking at my hand confirmed it, it was covered in blood. Those were my initial thoughts…I’ve just been shot in the head and I’m probably in shock and going to die real soon. After that initial craziness wore off, I realized that it wasn’t blood at all…it was red paint and the skull fragment was not bone, but the casing to a paintball. This was definitely one of those bad days. Already dealing with the broken skateboard…then getting shot at and thinkin I was gonna die. It’s pretty funny now, when I think back, but damn. At the time, it was dead ass serious…
