Very Convincing Malicious Hallmark Ecard Email…

Wow. I just got this email from ‘Hallmark’. This one is pretty damn legit looking and I figured I’d post it up so other folks might get a little warning here first about it…just in case you get one. First of all, every link in this one is legit, besides the main one. All the smaller links on the page go to the actual Hallmark website. This is not usually the case with phishing and virus laden emails. Anyway, the main link doesn’t go to Hallmark at all…of course. It points to: http://87.241.217.9/Funny.gif.exe
…which I’m sure is neither ‘funny’ nor a ‘gif’ when you follow it.
This one came especially close to foolin me since my birthday was only a couple of days ago….hehehe…that woulda sucked to click on it. Anyway, a Whois search shows RIPE Network Coordination Centre as the site owner, which is based in Amsterdam, and offers no help to what ‘funny.gif.exe’ is or does.
Basically, just double-check those ecards links you receive…
peace,
zOnk

I got a similar Halmark email with a Chinese registered link. The link you got, if you check with RIPE, goes back to Moscow.
