It Is All About The Do512.

Rolling into Austin I could just feel that I was in for a great night. Mike Relm has always talked highly about the Do512 crew. I had a brief encounter with them in San Antonio, but it did no justice to what I was about to experience. After getting settled into our hotel and doing a sound check we headed over to a BBQ that was thrown just for us. We showed up at their compound that is located a little outside downtown Austin. From the street I could see that there was about 200 people spilling out into the parking lot. Back in the college days when you saw something like this you knew it had to be on; and it WAS. We parked the van and as soon as we got close we were greeted by the “CREW” :

For everyone that lives outside Austin, TX :

Do512 is an interactive events listing and entertainment site. They rank events based on popularity to help make decisions easier for the average user. A great idea for people that not only want to know what’s going on, but for people that are so damn indecisive.

No sooner than we said our hello’s then we jumped to the head of the line to have one of Jimmy’s (far left) famous Beef Brisket Taco’s and one a lot of these bad boys:

yummy beer

This was the makings of a great party. They had a dj spinning an eclectic amount of tracks, which was very refreshing. They had a bar serving mixed drinks, vodka infused water mellon, and all the Lonestar beer you could drink. Inside the place was stocked with a ping pong table, keg-o-rator, and cases upon cases of beer. Amongst all this fun was the employee work space. What a great place to work and an even better place to throw a party. None the less I would like to personally thank them for such a “home” feeling atmosphere and for an absolutely great time. Like they say, ” when in Austin….do512.com.”

A special shout out goes to Kristen Owen for not only giving me the best tour with the greatest view, but to showing me that the dance, “overly caucasian” is still alive and well.
