Hello folks. I was just given the link to this yesterday and was really impressed…actually listened to it all the way through, twice! Max Tannone has been making these mashup/blends for a while now and I think the best one to date is this album called ‘Mos Dub’. Basically it’s just what you’d expect; Mos Def blended with smooth reggae and dub inspired beats. Lots of good material on this. With Mos Def’s laid back flow, they’re a perfect match to the chilled out sounds of reggae and dub. Honestly, when I listened to it, I was like, “Wow, seems like Mos Def would have actually rapped over more beats like this without it being a remix.”
It’s a natural fit. Conscious lyrics with conscious music. Big up to Max Tannone (NYC) for this!
